Berlin Enescu Days - commemorating George Enescu
Marking 50 years since the passing away of the composer George
Enescu, the year 2005 had been proclaimed by the UNESCO as being
- among other celebrations - also the year of George Enescu. This
was one of the reasons for presenting the Berlin Enescu Days from
October 26th - 29th 2005 at the Berlin University of Arts and
the Berlin Romanian Cultural Institute. During four concerts and
three congress days public attention focused on a composer who's
works are often erroneously considered as folkloristic marginalia.
The Berlin Enescu Days will be followed by a publication and a
CD.

  The
Berlin Enescu Days were under the auspices of the Romanian
Cultural Institute Bucharest (ICR) and benefitted from the high
patronage of the Romanian
embassy in Berlin. The event was only possible because of the
generous support of our sponsors, to whom we owe a great debt of
gratitude. |
